Coile Brandbook

Coile Brandbook

Coile is a haircare brand rooted in the celebration of natural curls, coils, and kinks, with a focus on Black hair textures. The brand exists to empower individuals to embrace their hair in all its forms, whether protective styles, afros, or defined curls, through high-quality, nourishing products made specifically for textured hair. The brand’s tone is uplifting, inclusive, and culturally grounded, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Black beauty rituals. Visually, Coile uses rich earthy tones, bold typography, and editorial-style imagery that centers real people and real hair journeys. This assignment I created for my Visual Communications class derived from inspirations of prominent Black Women in pop culture who also have their own hair-care lines. I was drawn to having abstract afrocentric art relating to my Liberian roots to reflect the fonts. The brandbook outlines everything from logo use and packaging design to social media voice and campaign aesthetics, emphasizing self-love, education, and heritage. Coile is more than haircare. It is a movement redefining beauty on its own terms. [Click View Live Project To See Full Project]

Each flyer uses bold visuals, affirming language, and culturally resonant design to attract diverse audiences and encourage participation in workshops, healing circles, and wellness events. The goal was to create inviting, inclusive materials that both inform and inspire engagement within the Black community.

Blended playful typography with whimsical cat illustrations and warm color palettes to reflect the café’s comforting, quirky vibe. The copy was short and catchy and to the point!
